The Origins
Our story begins with a simple greeting from the South. Growing up, my father would greet everyone with a warm "Hey, Bosho!"
It didn't matter if they were family, friends, or strangers — everyone was "Bosho" to him. That greeting carried the spirit of community that defined our home. When I asked him about it years later, he said, "Son, down here, we're all riding the same trail. Might as well ride together."
This philosophy stayed with me as I moved to the city and missed the authenticity of home. In 2018, when I started roasting my own beans in a small garage, there was only one name that felt right — Bosho. It wasn't just my father's greeting; it was a call to community, to authenticity, and to the shared journey we're all on.

Our Heritage
While building Bosho, I learned something often overlooked by history: one in four cowboys in the American West were Black.
These men and women helped shape communities, drive cattle, and build a legacy of grit. Yet their stories remained untold, much like the erasure of authentic voices in today's coffee culture, replaced by corporate mediocrity.
Bosho stands against that erasure. We draw inspiration from these forgotten riders — their resilience, their spirit of freedom, and their way of brewing coffee over open fires. Bold, no-frills, and authentic to the core.

We honor the cowboys' tradition by sourcing only the finest single-origin, fair trade beans from Kenya.
Our relationships with farmers ensure fair prices and sustainable practices, creating positive change. We roast in small batches using methods inspired by frontier coffee-making — bold, flavorful, and without pretense.
